The Principal Toolbox software has been developed in a scalable and modular architecture based on server side Java 2 technology and relational databases. Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) guarantees scalability, reliability, performance and compatibility with a wide range of operating systems. The Principal Toolbox is a server-based application that users access with a web-browser, therefore no client installation is required, reducing implementation costs and issues. Customisation and system integration The Principal Toolbox is based on future-proof Java technology and an open, standardised architecture. This allows customisation and integration with other applications / legacy systems with a minimum of cost and risk. Security User access rights are automatically controlled by the Principal Toolbox for every location, file and document in the system. Users are identified with a user name / password, this is commonly Integrated with their Windows username ('single sign-on'). Technical support, documentation and service Software licenses include technical support and access to the help desk.
